Where the capacity actually goes

A sharper technical claim has been circulating since the last check: many networks spend a large share of their capacity on inter-node chatter. One comparison making the rounds puts that overhead near half of all activity on certain high-throughput chains. Teranode’s framing is that its nodes operate more independently, so the bulk of capacity is available for actual user transactions rather than internal coordination.

That argument sits alongside the ongoing deployment discussion. Single-host Docker Compose setups (Aerospike, Postgres, Kafka/Redpanda) continue to be cited as a documented path, separate from the heavier Kubernetes configurations used for horizontal scale. The practical question for builders remains the same: how much infrastructure is required before the architecture’s capacity claims become usable in a real environment.

On the application side, LocalBSV’s recent 0-conf and partial-fill improvements are still the most concrete usability step in the token layer, even as earlier UTXO selection issues are being worked through.

The current edge of the conversation is less about new headline numbers and more about efficiency — how much of the system’s power is spent on user work versus the system talking to itself.
