Testing without shortcuts
The practical edge this week is about confidence in the stack itself.
Teranode has been highlighting its use of TestContainers — spinning up real Aerospike, PostgreSQL, and Kafka instances for every test run instead of relying on mocks for critical infrastructure. The framing is straightforward: real databases and real message brokers produce real confidence when the system is meant to run at high throughput.
That sits alongside a clearer picture of the current stack: Go, gRPC + Protobuf for communication, Kafka for messaging, Aerospike for UTXO storage, PostgreSQL for chain state, Docker and Kubernetes for deployment, and Prometheus + Jaeger for monitoring. The list reads less like a research sketch and more like an enterprise-oriented production path.
On the application side, LocalBSV continues to explore what the token layer can support. Recent posts have floated cross-chain settlement ideas (BSV ↔ SOL, BSV-21 ↔ SPL) as technical possibilities, and restated the simpler case for project tokens: a way for supporters to back development work directly, without the token needing to pretend to be something else.
The current pulse is less about new capacity numbers and more about whether the infrastructure and the tools on top of it are becoming solid enough to trust under real load.
